Steps in the basket builder: base, fruit, style, occasion and review

The brief

The Velvet Orchard makes handcrafted fruit hampers in Pune for festivals, celebrations and corporate gifts. The business had a brochure and beautiful photographs of its work, and it needed a website that felt as considered as the hampers themselves.

A hamper is a personal purchase, so customers often want to change what goes in it. They also expect to talk to the shop before they order, and in India that conversation usually happens on WhatsApp.

What had to be true

A customer had to be able to see the hampers, shape their own, and start a conversation in a few taps. The owners had to be able to change the catalogue themselves, without calling a developer.

The build

The site opens with a real-time 3D wicker basket filling with fruit. In the builder, customers pick a base and fruit, and each fruit drops into the basket as they choose it. They then pick a style and an occasion, and the finished order goes to the shop on WhatsApp with an estimated fruit cost, so the owners can confirm the size, weight and price.

The collection can be filtered by basket type, and any hamper can be enquired about directly on WhatsApp. If a device cannot run 3D, it sees a photograph instead.

A password-protected, phone-friendly admin lets the owners add, edit or remove hampers and fruit, with their own photographs and prices. In November 2026 the site moved from its preview address to the client's own domain, with the old address redirecting. We opened it to search with a sitemap, store structured data and Google Search Console.

What it shows

  • 3D with a job to do: customers see the basket they are choosing take shape.
  • Ordering that fits the customer: every path ends in a WhatsApp conversation with the shop.
  • Owners in control: hampers, fruit, photos and prices change without a developer.
  • A proper launch: own domain, old address redirected, and the site set up for search.
